Patricia Barton Obituary

Patricia Ann (Kittle) Barton of Manchester, beloved wife of Michael Barton for 49 years, passed away on March 5th after battling Alzheimer's disease for several years. Patty was born in Manchester on November 1,1952 and graduated from Manchester High School in 1970. She worked at The Aetna for 38 years, starting as a file clerk and working up the ranks to become a Supervisor and an Assistant Manager of the Claims office. After retirement she worked part-time at the Manchester Police Department for nine years. Patty was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Teresa of Calcutta (St. Bridget Church) where she had served on the Parish Council and was a Eucharistic Minister, distributing communion to patients at Manchester Hospital. Patty enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved traveling with Michael and taking vacations with friends, often cruising to the Caribbean where she loved to snorkel. Patty and Michael hosted many parties and holiday dinners, always impressing everyone with her wonderful cooking and baking. She was an avid reader, belonging to a book club with a small group of friends. Patty also loved gardening and playing with her cats, which were her babies. In addition to her husband, Michael, Patty is survived by her brother Tom (Gail) Kittle, of Colchester, niece Stacey Kittle (Angela) of Manchester, and Jennifer (Karl) Dauphinais of West Hartford, sister-in-law Darlene Briggs of Westbrook. She also leaves her great-nephews Liam Dauphinais and Shane Kittle-Stone and great-niece Grey Kittle-Stone. Patty was predeceased by her parents Josephine and David Kittle and brother David Kittle. Patty touched many hearts and leaves behind countless friends, especially her "six pack". A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 12 at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main Street in Manchester. Burial will follow the funeral at St. Bridget Cemetery, 180 Oakland Street, Manchester. Family and friends may call at John F. My sincere condolences to Michael, her family, and to all her many friends. I have wonderful memories of Mike and Patty, and our paths often crossed during those years when I lived in Manchester. She really cared about others, was a sweet and kind human being, and the world is a sadder place without her in it.

Pat was a beautiful soul. She was loved by the Manchester Police community and all those who knew her. I lost my mother to the same terrible disease. God bless her
