Betsy Welch Obituary

Betsy Mae Welch age 50 of Industry, Illinois, passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at her home in Industry. She was born September 12, 1974, in Galesburg, Illinois to Ora and Mary Shaw Welch Jr. Betsy is survived by her parents, Ora and Mary Welch Jr., Industry, her significant other, Timothy Emerick, Industry, 2 daughters; Colleen Welch, Industry, Maelynn Emerick, Industry, 2 grandchildren: Nakeeta Lee, Lucian Lee both of Industry, 1 sister: Diane (JR) Hammond, Astoria, and 2 nephews: Seth Hammond and Taylor Hammond, along with many pets. Betsy was preceded in death by her grandparents: Tom and Jetta Shaw, Ora and Lula Welch Sr. Betsy was a 1993 Graduate of V.I.T. High School. She had an adventurous soul, she was always ready to go to the creek to fish, camp, or float down the river on the tubes. She loved to collect items especially model boats. She was known to keep everyone in her family on their toes. Betsy had a very soft spot in her heart for all of her dogs and cats. Most of all Betsy loved her family especially her grandchildren. Cremation rites have been accorded. Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester is assisting the family with arrangements. Betsy's family will host a Celebration of Life Reception from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Shelter House at Pinhook Park in Industry. Memorial is to her daughter Maelynn's Education fund and can be sent to the State Bank of Industry, 101 W.
