Jinny Ruppin

Virginia Mildred "Jinny" Ruppin, age 93, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Jinny was born on January 14, 1932 in Oconto, WI, a daughter of Harvey Finnis and Mildred Marie Coleman MacFarlane. On November 25, 1954 she married Donald Bruno Ruppin in Oconto, WI. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2013. Jinny was a graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. She earned a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas and spent her career working in the field of social work. Her professional experience included positions at the Salvation Army Booth Home for unwed mothers in Philadelphia, PA and at Catholic Charities in Kansas City, MO. In addition to her career, Jinny was active in volunteer work, particularly at Lake Area Regional Hospital and Hope House. She was committed to spreading the Gospel and dedicated much of her time to service. In her free time, she enjoyed music, singing, and traveling. Survivors include two daughters: Nancy A. (Gene) Bluhm of Quincy and Peggy (Edward) Lane of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren: Randy (Andrea) Bluhm of St. Louis, MO and Laura (Abraham) Rohde of Fredonia, WI; eight great-grandchildren: Graham, Bode, Molly, and Emme Bluhm and Evelyn, Percy, Alice, and Isla Rohde; a sister-in-law, Carole Anderson of Menomonee Falls, WI; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jinny was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Doris Vance and Janet Bearss; and a sister in infancy. Visitation: There will be no visitation. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI, with Pastor Marshall Frisque officiating.
