LaDonna A. Otto, 84, of Palmyra, MO, passed away at 4:58 PM, Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, MO.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO. Mr. Bennett Stice will officiate.
Friends and Family are invited to LaDonna's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.
LaDonna was born on October 28, 1940, in Bloomington, IL, to Delmar Clayton Thompson and Opal Fortner Thompson. She was formerly married to Cloyd Howe in 1958 in Farmer City, IL. She later married Ray Otto in 1971 in Farmer City, IL. Both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Wendy Howe of Hannibal, MO and Teya (Randy) Stice of Palmyra, MO, grandchildren, Chace (Laura) Poppe, Brettan Stice (Jake Sullen), Bennett (Drew) Stice, great grandchildren, Riley and Kristofor.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents, former husbands, and brother, Phillip Thompson.
LaDonna's career in real estate was marked by her tenacious spirit and unwavering dedication. LaDonna and Ray ran their own brokerage in Palmyra, later working with Bower & Associates in Quincy, and eventually with Baird and Warner in Downers Grove, IL. Her later years were spent at NECAC, where she provided invaluable housing assistance to those in need.
LaDonna was an exceptional cook, she delighted in crafting gourmet meals that were as visually stunning as they were delicious. Her sewing skills were unparalleled, creating garments for herself and her daughters that rivaled any designer brand. LaDonna's love for HGTV, the Cooking Network, the History Channel, and "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" reflected her diverse interests, which she joyfully shared with her grandchildren on memorable trips.
Her collection of Christmas Santas was a testament to her festive spirit, while her outgoing nature, friendliness, and sound advice will be deeply missed by all who knew her. LaDonna's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring warmth of a well-lived life.
