Frederick C. "Chuck" Copp

Frederick C. "Chuck" Copp, 79, a resident of Plaistow, NH died on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Carpenter) Copp with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. He was born in Haverhill, MA on February 12, 1946 and was the son of the late Frederick A. and Alice (Gagne) Copp. Chuck was raised in Haverhill and Plaistow and was a graduate of the Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1964. He earned a degree in law enforcement from Northern Essex Community College. Chuck was a longtime volunteer in the Plaistow fire department and later was elected deputy chief. He also was employed as a police officer on the Plaistow police department; he was the first full time officer on the force. Chuck later went on to teach applied science and welding at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, trap shooting, and boating on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Chuck was a member of the Plaistow Fireman's Association and the Country Pond Fish and Game club. Besides his wife Chuck is survived by his brother Clifton Copp and his wife Brenda of NH, his sisters Dorothy Carignan of Plaistow, NH and Barbara Graves and her husband Earl of Bedford, NH. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and great grandnieces. Chuck was sadly predeceased by his brother Richard Copp. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 5pm – 7pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Plaistow, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Hampshire SPCA at nhspca.org.
