James Regan Obituary

James M. Regan, 81, of Groveland, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Haverhill on May 10, 1943, the son of the late James E. and Mary (Palumbo) Regan. James graduated from St. James High School with the Class of 1961. He went on to work many years for Sears, Roebuck and Co. first as a Manager of the catalog department and then as a Salesman of major appliances. His devotion to his family often drove him to take a second job to supplement family income, whether it was bartending at the former Haverhill restaurant Lomazzo's, working the night shift as a custodian at Merrimack College, or as an overnight cashier at a local gas station. During his retired years, James enjoyed searching local yard and estate sales for hidden treasures that he would sell on shelves rented at many Newburyport and/or Haverhill antique shops. He also enjoyed traveling to various Caribbean Islands with his wife, friends, and family. And as he did throughout much of his life he loved to ride his motorcycle with his friends. He is predeceased by his siblings, Bernard Regan and Kathleen (Regan) Cerasulo as well as her husband Angelo. James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janet (Rousseau) Regan, his sons Lawrence M. Regan of Groveland, and Rodney J. Regan and wife Linda of Pelham, NH, his brother Dennis Regan and wife Karen of Florida, his four grandchildren Alicia M. Regan, Shane M. Regan, Brian J. Regan, and Ashley Flores and husband Mike, and great grandchildren Sophia Johnson, Lochlynn Tarmey, Nora Flores, Emmy Flores, and Dean Flores as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by all. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, January 29, from 6-8 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main Street, Bradford, MA 01835. His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 30 at 11 AM in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St., Bradford. Interment will follow in the Saint Patrick Cemetery, Haverhill.
