Dawn M. Meyer, 58, of Quincy, passed away at 7:59 am Saturday, October 19, 2024, at her home in Quincy, IL.
Dawn was born February 15, 1966, in Quincy, IL to John "Jay" and Barbara (Brinkman) Meyer.
A proud 1984 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School, Dawn was known for her unwavering work ethic, which she displayed through her more than two decades of commendable service in the grocery industry. Not only did she excel in her role as a deli manager at Niemann's, but her creative flair also shone bright as she dazzled customers with her exceptional skills as a cake decorator.
Dawn's interests were as abundant as her energy. A remarkable cook, she shared her culinary talents with loved ones, especially known for her fried pork chops and as an exceptional baker. Her penchant for creativity was matched by her keen ear for country music; the songs of Chris Stapleton, Tim McGraw, and Luke Combs filled her home with melodies and memories. A faithful fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas Jayhawks, she turned game days into gatherings filled with cheer and camaraderie.
As much as she cherished her home life, Dawn was also an adventurer at heart. She traveled to destinations that others only dream of, including Brazil, Thailand, and Bangkok, where she delighted in the pursuit of beautiful gemstones.
Survivors include her sons, Tyler Ochterbeck, Tanner Ochterbeck, and William "Billy" Ochterbeck III, all of Quincy, IL; her parents, Jay and Barbara Meyer; three siblings, Russ Meyer (Terri), Ray Meyer (Tina), and Nichole Meyer; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Dawn was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and one cousin, Neal Wilper.
