John William Ketchum, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at the age of 74. Loving husband of Deborah Ketchum; beloved son of the late William Ketchum and Dallas Alberta Beucke; devoted father of Jeremy (Jennifer) Ketchum, Lindsey (Patrick) Anderson, Jennifer (Kevin) Young, Rick Padgett, Dan (Ginger) Padgett, and Lindsay (Rick) Jewell; dear brother, Ron (Tom Bellon) Ketchum, and Polly Ketchum. John is preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa A. Ketchum and brother, Steven Ketchum.
John was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles. He was an avid runner for 34 years, John ran in 5K's every month for ten years. He was driven, motivated, and quirky. When he was younger, John enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go hiking, and camping. He always carried a pocketknife on himself. He learned to love cycling at a later age. He liked a clean car and a manicured lawn. John was a gentleman, faithful, caring and a Christian. John had quite the sweet tooth and loved chocolate chip cookies. John loved nothing more in the world than family. He loved his children and grandchildren and was adamant about being a present father. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family is comforted knowing that John is with his heavenly Father.
The family is being served by Baue Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Baue Funeral Home Cave Springs, 3950 West Clay Street. I am very sorry for your loss. John was a wonderful gentlemen with whom I was lucky to get to know about a dozen years ago. Having seen him around Westborough through the years, I eventually started running into him at 5k races. We had great conversations before and after them, and then started conversing much more in our neighborhood. His family was really blessed to have such a wonderful Dad!
