Mark Hoener Obituary

Mark Hoener, 56, of Quincy, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at his home.

Mark was born Sept. 11, 1959, in Quincy, a son of Kenneth C. and Margaret Hessing Hoener. He married Kathy Reddick on April 26, 1980, in Quincy. She survives.

Mark enjoyed working in his yard, taking his dog Keaton for walks and spending time with his friends and family. He loved driving and taking car trips. A dream he was not able to fulfill was to drive across the country to the Pacific Northwest. Mark's advice for everyone is to live their dreams today because there is no promise for tomorrow.

Mark's passion was his work. He began working as a child with a paper route, and, at 14, began working in the kitchen at Good Samaritan Home. During high school he was employed at the Clark Gas Station at 20th and Broadway. Upon his graduation, Mark went to work for his grandfather at R.L. Hoener Company in Quincy where he was still currently working in Industrial Sales and Design.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; a son, Eric Hoener (Carrie), stationed with the U.S. Navy in Whidbey Island, Wash.; three grandchildren, Ava Hoener, Jackson Hoener and Haddie Hoener; two brothers, Dennis Hoener (Tammy) of Quincy and Jeff Hoener (Christine) of Quincy; a sister, Jennifer Bliven (Rich) of Quincy; his mother in-law, Betty Reddick of Quincy; four brothers- in-law, Dan Augspurg of Quincy, Gary Jones of Quincy, Bruce Reddick of Keokuk, Iowa, and Kevin Reddick (Marilyn) of Quincy; a sister in-law, Debi Reddick of Jacksonville, Fla.; many loving nieces and nephews; and his best friends, Tim and Tammy Lepper of Quincy.

Mark was preceded in death, by his parents; a brother, Stephen Kent Hoener; three sisters, Rebecca Lynn Augspurg, Cynthia Jones and Pamela Mast; and his father in-law, Ralph Reddick.
