Nedra M. Willis

1922 - 2018

Nedra M. Willis, 95, of the Lewis County Nursing Home, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

She was born June 23, 1922, in Canton, a daughter of Dennis J. and Mary Ballard Willis. Nedra never married.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton. She liked to bake and read. Nedra graduated from Canton High School in 1941. After graduation she worked at the Glove Factory in Canton. During World War II she worked at the Ordinance Plant in Louisiana, Mo. After the war, she moved to St. Louis where she worked at the Famous Barr Candy Factory. In the early 1970s Nedra moved back to Canton and began working at Deters Dairy. She also worked with the Lewis County Foster Grandparents Program.

Survivors include one niece, Mary (Dale) Stice of Monticello; one nephew, J. Dennis (Diane) Willis of Canton; two great-nieces, Bethany (Cal) Callison of Ashton, Ill., and Tami Willis of Canton; two great-nephews, Nathan (Kara) Stice of Canton and Jared Stice of Portage, Wis.; four great-great-nephews, Javan, Kenan and Asher Callison and Lemuel Stice; sister-in-law, Barbara Willis of Canton; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Julian Willis.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Davis Funeral Home in Canton with the Rev. Cal Callison conducting. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Davis Funeral Home in Canton.
