Paul E. "Buck" Rush, age 83, died Friday, March 17, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born October 15, 1939, in Pittsfield, the son of Russell and Mary Evans Rush. He married his wife of 62 years Norma Douglas on October 15, 1960 in Quincy and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Steven (Diana) Rush of Fowler, Christina Hays and Curtis (Lori) Rush, all of Quincy; nine grandchildren, Jared Rush of Quincy, Rachel (Jack) Gamache of Moscow Mills, MO, Darren (Freydell) Hays of Wenatchee, WA, Carra (Alex) Brown of Quincy, Aaron Rush of Albuquerque, NM, Amanda Rush of Quincy, Marc (Lindsey) Rush of Griggsville, Becca Rush (Quinten Frankel) of Quincy and Hope (Kenton) Parsons of Emden, MO; nine great-grandchildren and one due in May; siblings, David (Betty) Rush and Bruce (Della) Rush, all of New Salem, James (Betty) Rush of Decatur, Ronald Rush and Diana Kroschel, both of Pittsfield and Lester (Janet) Rush of Griggsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings, Russell Rush, Jr., Donna Buckley, Dorothy Brown, Lucille Kiesewetter and Deloris Shaffer.
Mr. Rush enjoyed bowling and was a collector of hats. He had a passion for racing, especially Nascar (Mark Martin #6) and could be found at area speedways on about any given Sunday. His true love and passion though was for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home with burial at Quincy Memorial Park. Family will meet friends from 9:30 AM until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Madison Park Christian Church or Blessing Hospice.
