Phyllis Arnsman Obituary

Phyllis E. Arnsman, 80, of Quincy died on Sunday (March 25, 2012) in her home in Quincy.

Phyllis was born on Jan. 7, 1932, in Ursa to the late Cecil and Florence Gibbs Inman. She married David R. Arnsman on Dec. 4, 1954, in the Ursa Christian Church in Ursa. David died on Oct. 16, 2009.

She was a member of the Congregational Church of Mendon, Eastern Star and Home Extension. She volunteered for Blessing Hospital, and helped with the Women's Guild at Salem Church in Quincy. She enjoyed sewing, reading, flowers, baking, waterskiing, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Steve D. Arnsman and his wife, Dianna, of Mendon, and Douglas D. Arnsman of Quincy; two daughters, Judith Eckerly and her husband, Dave, of Macomb, and Lorie E. Schwartz and her husband, Rob, of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren, Daniel R. Arnsman and his wife, Tricia, of Quincy, Luke S. Arnsman and his wife, Mandi, of Pekin, Jessica Kretzer and her husband, Michael, of Mendon, Joshua D. Arnsman of Pittsfield, Caleb R. Arnsman of Mendon, Adam L. Edwards with the United States Army, Ashley L. Edwards of Macomb, Cathy J. Edwards of Macomb, Brian D. Edwards of Indiana, Chloe R. Arnsman of Quincy, Taylor L. Arnsman of Quincy, Bradley Ian Gabel of Canton, Mo., and Kristi Schwartz of St. Louis; 16 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Blake and Morgan Arnsman of Quincy, Delaney, Atley and Hudson Arnsman of Pekin, Savannah Kretzer of Mendon, Alyssa, Christopher and Zoey Edwards of Macomb, Connor Edwards of Pana, Teagen, Brayden, Zayden and Aidan Gabel of Canton, Mo., Rossi Saxbery of Quincy; one sister, Mary Ann Wray and her husband, James, of Quincy, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Roger Inman.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Wednesday memorial service will be held in the Congregational Church of Mendon, with the Rev. Jan Johnson and the Rev. Jack Perdue conducting.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon, with an Eastern Star service at 3:45 p.m.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Mendon, Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Blessing Cancer Center.
