After a valiant battle with colon cancer, Travis Weigand of Warsaw, IL passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on April 19, 2022, at the age of 62.
He was born October 16, 1959, in Quincy, IL, the son of the late Dianne Weigand and adoptive father Clyde "Skip" Weigand also of Warsaw, IL. Travis was a Warsaw High School graduate, Class of 1978.
Travis married the love of his life, Laura Rothert on April 30, 1988. They celebrated forty-two beautiful years together. He leaves behind his wife, Laura, his two children: Cassandra (Brandon) Grunewald, and Vincent (Jana Schmitt) Weigand, as well as three grandchildren Garrett, Waylon, and Wesley Grunewald. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister Jackie (Frank) Cooper.
Surviving loved ones include: his favorite uncle Hank (Jean) Courtois, sister Joni (Chuck) Bush, brother Anthony Weigand, a multitude of nieces and nephews, and friends/honorary pallbearers Joe Thompson, Robert Thurman, Mel Thomas, Brian Froman, and John Harrison.
Travis, a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved the outdoors; especially gardening with Laura, mowing, shed hunting, and fishing with his son Vince. You could often spot Travis driving his beloved dogs, Lucy and Indie, around town. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who adored his wife, children, and grandkids. "Papa Trav" was a badge he wore with pride. He truly loved coaching and watching his kids play sports. A member of the River's Edge Sportsman's Club, Travis enjoyed watching big games, river sunsets, and bonfires at the club with his closest friends and family.
Travis leaves many meaningful and happy memories for those who knew and loved him. His carefree personality was contagious to everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and many stories to tell of a life well-lived.
His friends and family will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Travis, a family man and friend to many will be sorely missed and forever remembered. Because Travis celebrated life, no formal funeral service is being planned, instead, he will be honored with an outdoor Celebration of Life to be held at the Warsaw Brewery on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 3pm - 9pm.
Memorials may be made to his family, in care of Laura, for his grandchildren's education fund.

With sincere sympathy, I send you my respect for all you did for Travis during his life and specially while he was so ill. You are indeed a role model for all woman and nurses who have to face this road so alone yet so close. May God look down on you and your children with grace and love. Thinking and praying for all of you. May Travis rest in peace.
