Mary L. Degnim

1930 - 2021

Mary Louise (O'Connor) Degnim, of Franklin, died peacefully at home surrounded by her children on July 3rd, 2021 following a brief illness. Marylou was born in Medford on June 7th, 1930 to James O'Connor and Mary (McCarron) O'Connor. Marylou was predeceased by her husband Paul W. Degnim Sr. in 2012 and her son Paul W. Degnim Jr. in 2002. Marylou is survived by her children, James Degnim and his wife Amy of Rochester, MN., Denise Cardone and her husband Tom of Springfield, Mark Degnim of Uxbridge, her grandchildren, Danielle Cardone Hannoush and her husband Andre of West Springfield, Thomas Cardone Jr. of Springfield, Owen Degnim of Duluth, MN., Andrew Degnim of Rochester, MN., Max and Sam Degnim of Uxbridge, her great grandchildren, Layla, Juliana and Luca Hannoush of West Springfield and nieces and nephews. Marylou lived in Franklin for the past fifty-nine years and was active in the community. She was a volunteer at Davis Thayer Elementary School, a member of the Alden and Aldenettes Clubs, the Trail Blazers walking group, the cribbage club, the Pips Girls and the Busy Bees craft group at the Franklin Senior Center. Marylou was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, watching Patriots football and spending time with her treasured family and friends. Marylou's kind heart and genuine concern for people will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the Natick-Walpole VNA and Seasons Hospice Care for their support and care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour July 10th in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. from 9:30-10:30 A.M. A funeral Mass will follow in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 11A.M. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
