John was my tennis partner. He was number one on the team and I was number two. We teamed up as the number one doubles team. I remember zjohm as a really nice guy. RIP old friend.

Dear Northrup Family,

I am very sorry to hear about John's passing. He was one of my favorite people....literally. I met John at an Assurex conference 10 years ago and am proud to call him a friend, as he truly was one. He had a great passion for our business and integrity that couldn't be matched. Some of my favorite times were with John at Assurex conferences; one time teaching him how to get a better drink than everyone else, and two, watching the Cubbies (as he would say) for the first time at Wrigley. I will miss him but will remember him forever.

Though I've not met you, my thoughts are with you all.

Dear Mrs. Northrup and family. I was so shocked and deeply saddened to learn about John's untimely death. He was my first childhood friend whom I met 58 years ago when my family first moved to Lynnfield. I have the fondest of memories bouncing on the bed together during an overnight, collecting baseball cards together, playing Little League baseball for the Dodgers, sledding to the "open field" behind his home in Lynnfield, and in later years playing tennis together. He was a wonderful friend. I am so sorry for your loss.

John has been a great friend, tennis and golf buddy since we met in 1970 at Salem. The years we played tennis tourneys together will be forever cherished. He was forever generous with his advice, time and heart. Lissa and all the Northrup family, we are so sorry for your loss. "Annie" and I have been blessed to know John all these years and are fortunate to have you Lissa as a friend. We will always love and miss John and are grateful for all the good he has brought to all of us.

There are no words to express the hole left in our hearts with the loss of John. I've treasured a Vt. Teddy Bear dressed as a doctor that you two gave me at least 10 years ago and will treasure it even more.. Even though there is a hole left in our hearts with his passing, I know he will always be in our hearts. I am so sorry for you, and our, loss....
