George Stackpole Obituary

George F. "Donny" "Smokey" Stackpole, age 77, entered into eternal life Oct. 9, 2013. George was born and raised in Boston and had lived in Braintree for 50 years. Mr. Stackpole was a diesel mechanic for Shawmut Transportation in Braintree for 25 years and retired from Consolidated Freightways in Woburn. He served in the Mass. Army National Guard. He was a devoted family man and avid gardener. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn (Kane); devoted father of Daniel of Braintree, Mary Ann Scannell of Braintree, Karen Toomey of Braintree, Robert of Braintree, James of Orlando, Fla., Karen Euber of Weymouth, Kevin Euber of Springfield, and the late Donald Stackpole; beloved brother of Alice Winters of Braintree, Helen Olson of Braintree, Lalia Nichols of N.Y., Laura Lemon of Concord, N.H., Frederick Gordon of Oregon, Frank Stackpole of Tampa, Fla., and the late Richard Stackpole; devoted grandfather of Jerry, Bobby, E.J., Bryan, Kurtis, Megan, Taylor, Nick, Caroline and Timothy; great-grandfather of Presley. Funeral was held from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth, Saturday, Oct. 12, at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass was held in the Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Burial in Braintree Cemetery.

We all grow up together in Braintree. We were all a big happy family! Your Dad was loved and appreciated so much. When ever we needed a ride, a car fixed or a word of advice, he was always there for us. We loved him and will miss him lots! We all are so sorry for your loss. May God Help you all, love your forever friends Theresa(Harrold)& Richard Spring, Rosemary(Harrold) Raney and his dear friend who just passed on Aug.6,2013 Margaret (Menchin)- Koppel, Theresa's children, Laurie Ann, Richard, John.
