Hayden Gagnon Obituary
Hayden D. Gagnon, aka "K9 Kid" "The Canadian", 19, Pulaski, died Monday, November 10, 2014. He was born February 6, 1995, in Green Bay to Bart and Rae (Cramer) Gagnon.
Hayden was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 2013. He worked as a head zoo keeper at the DeYoung Family Zoo in Wallace, MI, and also as a full time staff member at Piper's Rescue Ranch. Hayden was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He will be remembered for his big smile and his sense of humor. Hayden enjoyed working with animals - especially wolves, spending time with family and friends, going on family vacations, and traveling. He often would appear on NBC 26 on "Untamed Tuesday with Animals" (a morning program) and spoke a lot on animal education, conservation and preservation. He also starred in "My Life is a Zoo" on National Geographic Wild.
Hayden is survived by his parents, Bart and Rae; sister, Carrie Cramer and her fiancé, Bud DeYoung; grandparents, Gary and Dee Cramer, Mary Gagnon "Grandma"; aunts and uncles, Kelly and Jodi Cramer, Pete and Gina Cramer, Marie Cramer and her special friend, Jensina "Color", Brian Gagnon and his special friend, Sharon, Brent Gagnon, Brad Gagnon and his fiancé, Amy, Brenda Leonard and her special friend, Scott Wanta; cousins, Brandon, Brad, Birdee, Bunny, Brandon, Billy Jean, Beau, Trent, Dylan; Hayden's three dogs, Harper, Jaeger, and Chloe; his chimpanzee, Louie; and many good friends, especially Derek Reiner, whom he worked with at the zoo.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Gagnon; and his Grandma's good friend, Daniel Amenson.
Friends may call at SS. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., Flintville, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Friends may also call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. David J. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the SS. Edward & Isidore Catholic Cemetery. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

I practically grew up at DeYoung and have many memories with Hayden though vague. I worked with him for two years when I was 11-12. I'm now 17, and I've never lost someone close to my age. It's weird. It sucks. I regret not going to DeYoung this last year. I miss him. I have the last picture I took of him still. I'm treasuring it.

Dear Hayden, I will always remember you and Dillon walking to Assumption BVM School for guitar lessons, and you told me that you were thinking about becoming a priest; but you had to "check out the chicks" first! My daughters were friends of his, he was a wonderful young man, who would sit at the high school with my girls until I'd get there to pick them up and sometimes drop them off when I had to work. My prayers go out to his parents, sister, and extended family. I am thankful for the opportunity to know Hayden and be one of his good friends from ABVM elementary. Our friendship drifted a little through the years, but I remember the good times we shared in elementary school and later on freshman year of high school on the golf team. Rest in Peace.
