Dave was my close friend, spiritually, even though I didnt share his life in the outside world. He radiated optimism and peace, stemming from having conquered the monster of alcoholism. I always felt that he would help me if I got in a jam, because he knew what it meant to
be a failure and rise above it. His very tone bespoke a culture that embraced the world and the individual. He was truly a man. Tom Butler

Our dear pal David, whose giggle was contagious, whose smile was uplifting and whose friendship was constant. He shared birthdays and anniversaries with us, helped us buy and sell houses, and had our son believing he was Bob Dole turned liberal! I loved his zeal and intelligence about what our country needed. He was always there for us and will be - in spirit! We will miss him on this earth but we wont forget his specialness. Our sympathies to his family - as they will surely miss him.

David, you were such an example and friend to so many people who admired your wisdom, wit and elegance. I count myself among them, and treasure our friendship and the friendship we shared with Richard Lee. You truly were a fine man.
