Elizabeth Cacciatore Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Cacciatore passed away at 97 on October 14, 2012. She was born in her family's home on Sheridan Street, West Newton on March 16, 1915. She married Philip F. Cacciatore of Waltham in 1938 and moved into the home he built for her on River Street, West Newton. There she had three children, Philip F. Cacciatore, Jr and his wife Elaine (Speros)., of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Ann Lee Anderson of Burlington, MA; and Elizabeth Ann Cacciatore II and her life partner Joe Clayton of Weston. In 1960, Eliz and Phil built their home in Weston and in 1972 moved to Marco Island, Fl. They enjoyed a marriage filled with laughter, travel, dancing, entertaining and adoring love for 69 years until Phil's sad passing at 93 in April 2007. Their vacation home in Harwich Port, MA was purchased in 1968 where they happily summered with their grandchildren: Philip III, Lisa, Carolyn, Amy, Kenneth, Robert, Elizabeth, Eric, Annelyse and Elysha. Eliz is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, and eight nieces and six nephews. She is the last survivor of seven children of Carmine and Donata Tedesco. Joyous were the days spent talking and laughing with her sisters. Her father was master Gardner for the Dowse family who at the time were owners of Reed and Barton Sterling Silver Company inspiring her love of antiques and her appreciation for fresh produce. Her many skills included tennis, cooking, knitting, shell crafts and bridge. To everyone who knew her she was a "character" and she is sorely missed. We love you, Mum and will keep you alive in our hearts forever. Funeral Services in Celebration of Elizabeth's life were held in the Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Wednesday, October 17th. Interment followed at Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Expressions of sympathy may be made to: Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington Street #200, Wellesley, MA 02481

When my parents had 'the gang' over, you always knew when Eliz and Phil had arrived - the laughter was endless. Being up stairs or in the kitchen, I couldn't help but laugh along with them.

My fondest memories are of your Mum in the kitchen, cooking up a storm, and always with a smile. Enjoy the memories! May Eliz continue her life's celebration as she joins Phil, Pat & Maggie, and Allen & Bena.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all,
Jean Metcalfe O'Connor
