1954 - 2015

Lawrence Allen Larry McDonald, of Weymouth, formerly of North Quincy, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015. Born on Feb 18, 1954, Larry was the son of the late Edward and Dorothy McDonald of Rockland. He was the second of 7 children. The devoted father of 4 boys (Christopher and his wife Nancy, Ryan and his wife Teresa of Weymouth, Lawrence and his wife Taylor of Chicago and Tony of New York City.) Larry is a 1973 graduate of North Quincy High School and also attended Wentworth Institute where he further honed his skills as a master cabinet maker and member of the local Carpenters Union for many years. Larry's greatest joy was watching his boys and grandkids athletics as well spending time at the family cabin on little Sebago lake in Maine. Larry was very active in community, he helped keep the vigil at Saint Alberts the Great Roman Catholic Church remain open in South Weymouth. An avid Patriots Fan, Larry was a regular at the 6 p.m. Mass on Sunday's as a lector. Larry will be sorely missed by many as a man of integrity and committed to helping his family and others in need - without any reservations. Larry was a brother to Mark McDonald of Berkeley, Calif., the late Brian McDonald of Port Orange, Fla., Kathy McBride of Kingston, Mass., Clare Downey of Kingston, Mass., Edward Vincent McDonald of Cohasset, and the late Cpl. Paul McDonald, USMC of Rockland, Mass. Loving grandfather of 6 (Emmalyn, Aaron, Casey, Rory, Tyler, and Mason). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 4 - 8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends gathered in the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, prior to the funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9:30 a.m. Cremation followed.
