Charles Raymond Bowen, 93, of Farmland, IN, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, peacefully while in the company of family members at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Community in Muncie, IN. Charles was born in Winchester, IN, on September 23, 1931, a son of the late Imagene (Gordon) and Harold Bowen. He was a graduate of Mckinley High School in Winchester, IN, proudly served in the United States Air Force and went on to continue his education in commercial aeronautics, receiving his commercial pilot's license, instrument rating and working as an aviation mechanic for Muncie Aviation. He attended Compass Church in Winchester, IN, and was an artist at heart. Charles enjoyed capturing nature's beauty in his photography, oil painting, gardening, raising flowers and taking care of his 2 cats Duke and Daisy. He is survived by 2 daughters; Krista J. (Bowen) Sewell (husband Tom), Linda K. (Bowen) Nelson (husband Tim), 1 sister; Betty (Bowen) Harvey, 2 grandchildren; Reverend Kelley W. Sewell (wife Kelly), Angie (Sewell) Patterson (husband Patrick), 6 great grandchildren; Jovannah "Jovie" Sewell, Ellison "Elsie" Sewell, Lillianna "Lillie" Sewell, Kayla Patterson, Isaiah Patterson, 3 stepchildren; Vesta Whisler, Michael Wallace (Denise), William Wallace (Tereasa), 9 step grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; Imagene and Harold Bowen, wife Michaelene (Rossner) Bowen,1 great grandchild; Hezekiah Thomas Sewell and 1 stepdaughter; Roberta Ann Wendell. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 1-2 PM at MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Reverend Kelley W. Sewell officiating. Burial and military honors will be held in Buena Vista Cemetery in Farmland, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel.
