Edward Skurka, 91
Edward F. Skurka, 91, of Union City, Ind., passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 21, 1922 in Garfield, N.J., to the late Ignatius and Sophie Swolinski Skurka. He worked for 35 years in management with Arvin Industries, Columbus. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #983 4th Degree Assembly
survivors include eight children, Patricia Tintle of Sussex, N.J., Elaine (James) Derby of Columbus, Edward (Mary) Skurka, Jr. of Kernersville, N.C., Mary (Jeffrey) Nagy of Lafayette, Ruth (Steve) Blair of Hope, Paul (Kerry) Skurka of Freetown, Diane "Dee" (Roy) Baxter of Union City, Ind., and Amy (Gary) Mack of Columbus; 23 grandchildren; and several great and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genevieve Skurka May 8, 2009; and three brothers, Frank, Walter and Joseph Skurka.
A funeral mass is 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Union City, Ind., with Father Christopher Roberts officiating. Burial is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Union City.
A celebration of life will follow burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church Hall. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to State of the Heart Hospice with envelopes available at the church.

To my cousins -- In doing some online research today, I came across this obituary for Uncle Eddie and also saw that Aunt Gen passed in 2009.
