The Rev. Fredric Herbert Weber, son of the late Rev. Christian Otto and Dorothy Elizabeth Pfohl Weber, died at his home at Salemtowne on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006. He was born in Winston-Salem on July 30, 1925, and was educated in the Winston-Salem city schools. After the death of his parents, he was raised in the loving home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Pfohl. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and from Moravian Theological Seminary. An ordained Moravian minister, the Rev. Weber served pastorates at Clemmons, Bethania, Mayodan, Fries Memorial and Little Church on the Lane in Charlotte. He also served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Mission Society of the Moravian Church, South and served on the Archives Board and the Board of Trustees of Salem Academy and College. He also went on evangelistic tours of Alaska with George Hamilton IV. In addition to his love for and service to his Lord and the Gospel, he loved the history and music of his church. He was currently serving on the Board of Elders of Fairview Moravian Church and was active in the Weber Sunday school class, named in honor of his father and mother. He is survived by his wife, E. Artis Wright Weber; his daughter and son-in-law, Marie Weber Nodine and Dennis Nodine; granddaughters Jennifer Elizabeth and Emma Kristen Abigail Nodine, all of Charlotte; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Christian David and Dorothy Sohn Weber; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was previously married to Emma Elizabeth Kapp Weber, who predeceased him in 1981. His brother, the Rev. Charles Bruce Weber, also preceded him in death. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Fairview Moravian Church, by the Rev. Riddick Weber, the Right Rev. Lane Sapp and the Rev. David Marcus Jr. Interment will follow in Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. in the church parlor. Memorials may be made to Fairview Moravian Church Mission Fund, 6550 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27106; or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Dear Ones,
I share in the sorrow of this temporary absence of my brother in Christ, and yet, I rejoice for the blessing of his being in the immediate presence of our Lord.
Some day soon, we shall be in fellowship with him, in the very presence of our Saviour Jesus Christ. What a grand and wonderful time we shall have, and for eternity.
I am most thankful to the Father, that I am blessed to know Brother Weber both sides of Heaven, and rejoice in the legacy he gave to those whom he knew and loved.
\o/ and love,

Dear E Artis, Marie, Dennis, Abby, & Jenna --- It was good to see you Monday as we celebrated Mr Weber's graduation. It was a beautiful and moving service. Suzanne and I were so happy to be with you and the girls. You know how much Mr Weber meant to us and how much he personified integrity and Christian ethics. We, too, will miss him and look forward to re-union with him on a sunny day to come.

I'm told the Reverend Weber baptised me when I was too little to remember. I do remember his kindness and smile at family gatherings years later. Through my friendship with Herbert's nephews, I have come to know that family, and to know that they will find love and support in one another.

My Dear E., Marie, Dennis, Jenna and Abby,
My heart grieves for you, as my own heart is broken at losing such a good friend. Pastor Weber's gentle manner, and unwavering dedication and service to the Lord inspired me to join the Moravian Church, and his counsel kept me from leaving. He married Don and me, and helped Don recognize his call to the ministry. Pastor Weber supported and encouraged us while Don was in seminary and never stopped after Don's death. I am sure Don had the band's, and all of the saints that have gone before, lined up to welcome Herbert into the kingdom of Heaven. We will all miss him.

Herbert was a very important part of our lives, having officiated at our wedding in 1987. It wasn't until after Herbert left the pastorate at LCOTL that we had the privilege of knowing him and E. Artis on a deeper and more intimate level. Phil believes that Herbert really came into his own spiritually during his "retirement," and he has many fond memories of the Lay Witness missions he shared with the Webers. Our heartfelt condolences to the family.

Dear "Lady E"...We have sooo many wonderful memories of Herbert. He was our first pastor at Little Church on the Lane. Herbert
had a sweet spirt and heart for the Lord. Each of our 3 children and their spouses were married by him and he was their pastor in their most formative years of Christian development. Our hearts go out to you and your families and especially to Marie, as their daughter-father relationship was so filled with love and devotion. May He who is able comfort you all at this time and give you His peace, knowing he is safe at home in our Father's arms until he sees each of you again!
with Jesus' perfect love, Haines & Dot

Reverend Weber married Brad and I at Little Church on the Lane in 1989. He and E. Artis were good friends of my parents who are both deceased. They participated in Moramus Choir together and came to most of my Father's birthday celebrations. He was a good friend of the family, a fantastic pastor, a true gentleman, and genuine man of God. My family and I will miss him greatly. Our heartlfelt sympathy go out to E.Artis and the Nodine Family in there loss.

From the first time I met Rev. Weber when I was a college student visiting Little Church on the Lane in Charlotte, I knew that he was a special man. He had a gift for preaching and living The Word. I always knew I could count on a warm handshake and a smile whenever he would serve as the guest or interim preacher at my own church. The Moravian Church has lost a tireless and giving servant, but Heaven is rejoicing over its faithful son attaining his eternal reward.
