I taught with George at West Forsyth. I also knew his wife Patsy.
I am very sorry to hear about George's death. I saw him in January at Ed Sugg's funeral. He was an enjoyable person to know. My deepest sympathy, Patsy.

George was the hardest working man i had ever seen for his age. I am sure going to miss seeing him every time I go outside. Will miss the banter and his little jokes.

Mr.Ernst was an excellent teacher and role model. He took a genuine interest in his students and their lives away from school. We knew that we could talk to him about anything and that he would offer sound advice to us, helping us to figure out how best to make decisions instead of making them for us. After retirement he still remained very active with many of us former students taking enjoyment and satisfaction from hearing how we were doing in our lives and career. I feel fortunate to have had Mr. Ernst in my life at West Forsyth Senior High and beyond. You think of people like him living for ever. Thank you Mr. Ernst for sharing so many of those "little nuggets" of knowledge as he loved to say.
