September 6, 1934 - January 23, 2022
Mr. Gorrell Dean Jester, 87, of East Bend, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born in Surry County to the late Charlie Claude and Nellie Lineberry Jester. Mr. Jester was retired from Piedmont Airlines after 28 years of service as an airplane mechanic. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of East Bend Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Rinda Joyce Jester and a daughter, Dawn Elizabeth Hobson. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Gentry Funeral Service in East Bend with Rev. Allen Boggs, Rev. Eddie Tyson, and Bob Wall officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the East Bend Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the Air Force Memorial Honor Guard. I was so sorry to hear about Gorrell Dean's passing. You and Gorrell Dean have been special friends to me for a long time. I'm so glad I got to see him just a few weeks ago. Please know you and Dawn are in my prayers. I hope to see you soon.
