Hoyt Allen Obituary
March 12, 1949 - October 26, 2020
Hoyt Miller Allen, Jr. passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1949 to the late Hoyt Miller Allen, Sr. and Vera Siddle Allen in Baltimore, MD. He was a graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1967 and attended Forsyth Technical Institute (FTCC) where he received an Associate's Degree in Mechanics. Hoyt was employed by the US Veterans' Administration, Winston-Salem, NC. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was also a retired US Army Reserve drill sergeant. Hoyt is survived by a son, Michael A. Sawyer of Walkertown, NC; one sister, Carolyn A. Allen of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Carl A. Allen of Washington, DC and Charles E. (JoAnn) Allen of Winston-Salem, NC; nephew, Christopher A. Allen; niece, Tiffany A. Richardson; a very dear and devoted friend, Zina L. Johnson; best and devoted friend, Julius Walker; other relatives and many, many friends. A public viewing for Mr. Allen will be held 12pm-6pm Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 at Hooper Funeral Home. Services will be private. Condolences can be made at www.hooperfuneralhome.net.

To the Allen Family: Hoyt and I graduated from Carver together in 1967! We just celebrated our 50th Reunion a few years ago and he was my guardian Angel! You have my deepest sympathy and condolences! Carl, we use to have a ball and great fun in the band together! Hoyt will be missed! Love and peace to your entire Allen family !

To the family of Hoyt Miller Allen Jr., while you mourn keep in mind that Hoyt had many friends at the VA. It was pleasant to work with him where I will never forget the kind/friendly conversations we had. Now he´s at a place that we shall meet again where there will be no sickness and life will be everlasting.

Hoyt will surely be missed by all of his loved ones and friends, which includes his co-workers. Working at the VA with Hoyt was a pleasure!
Each day as Hoyt strolled through making sure our work was picked up he brought a big smile and lots of laughter that brightened everyone´s day! He always had an ear to listen and a positive response to keep us pressing on throughout the day.
He was my friend that gave me the best medicine ever, laughter!!
Rest in the presence of our gracious Lord! Hoyt, I will surely see you again!!
I pray for the comfort of all who love and miss him.
