Joan Jonas Obituary

YANCEYVILLE - Mrs. Joan Leona Jonas, 70, a loving wife and mother, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Annie Penn Hospital. She was born April 1, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Leo and Harriett Szolwinski. On Oct. 20, 2006, Mrs. Jonas and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her mother, of Milwaukee, Wis.; her husband, Bernard Jonas; three daughters, Laura Jonas of Burlington, Wis., Lisa Welnak and husband, Jim, of Seattle, Wash., and Bernadine Cope and husband, Benny, of Winston-Salem; two sons, Bernard Jonas and wife, Debra, of Danville, Va., and Bradley Jonas and wife, Arlene, of Oxford. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Louisa Chaulkin, of Burlington, Wis., Jared Lynch of Waterford, Wis., Nicole and Benjamin Cope, of Winston-Salem, Jamie and Justin Jonas, of Ruffin, Stephanie and Elliott Welnak, of Seattle, Wash., and Raven Latta of Oxford. Ma, you will truly be missed by all of your kids and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Harrelson Funeral Home. Harrelson Funeral Service is assisting the Jonas family with arrangements.
