Lloyd Gwyndolen Maxcy

MAXCY KERNERSVILLE - Lloyd Gwyndolen Maxcy, 87, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at his home. He was born September 13, 1922 in Stokes Co. to the late Jerman David and Betty Alma Newman Maxcy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Aaleen Maxcy; and a son, Phillip Eugene Maxcy. Surviving are his wife, Racheal Joyce Maxcy of the home; his daughter, Wanda James of Walnut Cove; three sons, David Maxcy and wife, Dianne of Clemmons, Les Maxcy and wife, Terri of Midway, and Jeffery Maxcy of Wilmington; two step-daughters, Caron Everhart of Midway, and Brona Vest and husband, Richard of Mocksville; one brother, Hubert S. Maxcy of Walkertown; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Dr. Bobby Roberson and the Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
