CHAPLIN Melvin Chaplin, Jr., (Junior). 2 Timothy 4:6-8 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. Mr. Melvin Chaplin, Jr. (Junior), passed on September 7, 2008, at his home, 2230 Greenway Ave. he was a native of Winston Salem NC. He is the son of Melvin and Dorothy Chaplin Sr. He was an employee of the City Of Winston Salem for 15 years, he attended the Forsyth County public school and was a member of First Assembly Church. He leaves to cherish in memory his parents, a daughter Melvina James of Virginia Beach and son Mel James of Winston Salem, two grandchildren Jahari Grady and Damania James, two sisters Francina L. C. Dobson and Tomeka Darline Chaplin two brothers Rogers Denard Chaplin and Issac Olanda Chaplin two aunts Gladys Lee and Margie Rice and his fianc?' Charlene James all of Winston Salem and host of nieces ,nephews and friends . Junior will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him. Junior was dedicated to whatever he sat out to do even for others. He had a heart of gold. He could always say something to make one laugh and make your day. His smile was genuine. If Junior was here he would say to the family as Jesus says "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for on another" (John 13:34-35). Home going services will be conducted Monday, September 15, 2008, at First Assembly Church, at noon, and the family will receive friends 11:30 to 12:00, at the church, and burial will be Tuesday, at the Evergreen Cemetery.
