Sarah Ellen Rachel Moorefield

MOOREFIELD PINNACLE - Mrs. Sarah Ellen Rachel Moorefield, 93, of Pinnacle, passed away on, Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Northern Surry Hospital. Mrs. Moorefield was born in Surry County on April 14, 1916 to the late John H. Rachel and Maggie Moser. Mrs. Moorefield worked as a Homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Moorefield is survived by one sons and daughter-in-laws, Coy (Mary) Moorefield of King; four daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy (Jack) Smith of Pinnacle, Annie Mae Tuttle of King, Margaret Lawson of Germanton, Bonnie (Donald) Bledsoe of East Bend, Alice (Earl) Mathies of Pilot Mountain; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy (Ethel) Rachel of Pinnacle, one sister, Vallie Moorefield of Winston-Salem; twenty-six grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husband, Barn T. Moorefield; four sons, Carl W. Moorefield, Foy W. Moorefield, Henry O. Moorefield and Clyde Moorefield; one daughter; Beulah Lawson; two brothers; and four sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Pinnacle Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation Northern Surry Hospital Emergency Room and Dunmore Plantation, and a very special grandson, James Warner.
