Stephen Embler Obituary
August 10, 1960 - August 8, 2023
Stephen Donald Embler ("Steve") passed away at the age of 62 on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, of a sudden illness. Steve was born August 10, 1960, in High Point NC, a son of the late Donald Embler and his living mother Ruby Embler. Steve lived in the Winston Salem area most of his life. He graduated with an Accounting degree from UNC at Charlotte, obtained his CPA license and built a successful public accounting practice. He loved and had a strong passion for serving his clients. Those left to cherish his memory are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Barry Embler and his wife Tricia of Seven Lakes, NC and Gary Embler and his wife Kelli of Harrisburg, NC, his nephews, Cameron Embler (wife Sydney), Austin Embler, Elliott Embler (wife Claire) & Drew Gephart and nieces, Lindsay Lovin, Brianna Embler, Kaelyn Embler, Kelsie Embler, Elyssa Embler, Kristyn Embler. and great nieces Paisley and Layla Embler, who loved him more than words can express. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Donna Browne. Steve was known for his enormous heart, and funny humor. You never saw him without a smile. He was loved by so many including his family, friends, and clients. He was a great high school baseball player at Ledford Senior High and after graduation became an avid softball player playing shortstop for Mount Carmel Methodist. He was a two-time MVP of the Forsyth County District softball tournament and recipient of the batting title and gold glove award twice. Known as "The Statistician", friends and family always looked forward to talking sports with him because he knew all the college and pro players and could quote their stats. A public funeral service will be held for Steve, 2 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior. Steve took over as our accountant years ago. I owned a couple of businesses so I spoke to him and saw him often. What a positive joyous soul he had. He was always so welcoming, genuine and nice. He was never without a big smile on his face. I just learned about this today and I am so sad. Prayers for all of his family and loved ones.

I'm so very sorry to hear about Steve's passing. He was one of the nicest people I've ever know. He and I went out a couple of times and always had a good time. A true gentleman. He will be missed. I'm sending prayers to his family for comfort.
