Susan Jean Gies Conley Link

Susan Jean Gies Conley Link, 54, of Winston-Salem, nonprofit fundraiser and advocate, took a seat in the most glorious choir on June 21, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Susan was born on April 16, 1971, in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI and graduated from Okemos High School where she was in choir. She sang in choirs throughout her life including at All Saints Episcopal Church in East Lansing and both the choir and glee club of Wellesley College, where she completed a BA in political science. Susan later attained a Master of Education in higher education administration from UNC-Greensboro. Susan most recently sang in her church choir at St Anne's Episcopal Church and in the Winston Salem Symphony Chorus.

Due to limited capacity, the Celebration of Life will be streamed, Saturday, July 12 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Susan wished for donations to St. Anne's Donations. Please select the Susan G. Link Memorial Fund. A link to the Celebration of life can be found at salemfh.com.

Susan is survived by her husband of one year, Arthur Link III; her mother, Betty Seckinger; her beloved children, Mal Rose (formerly Madeline) and Ethan Thomas Conley; her father and mother-in-law, Dr. Stanley and Mary Margaret Link; and her brother, Allen Gies (sister in love Amber Lee). Susan was previously married to Kevin Conley, now of Orlando, Florida.

Susan is also survived by a large extended family and network of friends stretching across the country.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Gies; Stepfather, Clarke Seckinger; Grandparents, Walter and Kathleen Gies of St Clair Shores and Harrison, MI. Grandparents, Louis and Rose Deren of St Clair Shores, MI.

The family thanks our many Bayada CNA professionals, the team at Trellis Supportive Care, and the staff of the Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center along with a special thank you to the congregation of St Anne's Episcopal Church under the guidance of Pastor Ginny Wilder and Deacon Mary Kroohs.
