Lisa was born in Baraboo on July 15, 1963, to Robert J. Fitcher and Mary Jean (Ardery) Fichter. She was the seventh of their seven children.

She graduated with honors from Baraboo High School, Class of 1981. Lisa participated in cheerleading, theatre, music student council and was class president. At the age of 17, Lisa started her broadcast career at WBOO Radio Station. It was this experience that would inspire her lifelong profession in broadcasting. Lisa's first professional job was announcing for a Ripon Radio Station. Her talents included announcing, disc jockey, management, and sales. Establishments she worked for included WOLX Radio, Pridehum Electronics and Sonic Foundry. She felt most privileged and proud to work for PBS Wisconsin as Director of Business Sponsorship in Development and Fundraising.

She also performed voice over work becoming a very familiar spokesperson for PBS, helping businesses and viewers in the community connect.

A perfect day for Lisa was 81 degrees, floating on a raft at Devil's Lake with a friend or with her springer spaniel, Fiona. She also loved the Wisconsin Northwoods. Lisa loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She also played the guitar. Her favorite artists, included: Jackson Brown, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen and James Taylor.

Most of all, Lisa enjoyed spending time with her many wonderful friends and her family.

Lisa is survived by her siblings, Colleen McCowan, Stephen Fichter, Michael (Teri) Fichter, James Fichter, Robert (Patricia) Fichter and Mary Fichter; nieces and nephews, Amanda McCowan, Emily Fichter, Abby Jo Fichter, Stephen Fichter, Margaret Fichter, Katherine (Eric) Johnson, William (Karissa) Fichter, Riley Fichter, Devin Fichter. She is further survived by her cousin, Hollie Haxby as well as great nieces and great nephews, other distant relatives and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother-in-law, Anthony McCowan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo with Father Luke Powers presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SJS Cancer Support Team or PBS Wisconsin Public Television.

Lisa's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Lisa's best friend, Eve (Pilger) Pomrening. "Evie" dedicated herself and her many years' of experience as a medical professional to caring for our Lisa. Thank you, Evie and to all of her many wonderful friends who made a very difficult time joyful. We are truly grateful for all of you.

Thank you, Jim, for walking Fiona two times a day. Thanks also to the wonderful Agrace HospiceCare staff, especially Rae, Desiree, Brittney, Leslie and Elizabeth.
