Jacqueline Ward Obituary
Jacqueline "Jackie" Ward
Jacqueline "Jackie" Ward, age 89, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and tennis partner, Jackie lived a life full of joy, generosity, and spirited energy that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Born in Baraboo to Boyd and Eileen Potter, Jackie grew up just blocks from Circus World Museum, where her fun-loving and mischievous childhood laid the foundation for a life defined by laughter, adventure, and generosity. She later made her home in Wisconsin Dells, where she raised her three beloved sons, her greatest pride and joy, and became a vibrant pillar of her community.
Jackie was a passionate athlete, excelling in volleyball, tennis, and any challenge she set her mind to. Her competitive spirit earned her numerous accolades, including club championships at Tamarack, victories in Madison's "Portage and Paddle", and multiple Badger State Games medals. Yet, it was the camaraderie and friendships forged on the court that she cherished most.
A faithful member of the Catholic Church, Jackie's devotion extended beyond religion into every aspect of her life. She was the ultimate host, known for her legendary cooking, warm hospitality, and the way she made every gathering feel like a celebration. Her zest for life, infectious positivity, and sharp sense of humor made her the heart of every room she entered.
Jackie is survived by her sons, Wayne (Sheryl), Bryan (Joyce) and Jody (Jana); her sister, Jeanne Sabino; grandchildren, Chris (Lori) Burdick, Bryan Ward Jr. and Shelby Ward; great-granddaughter, Elana Burdick; many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Eileen Potter and her brothers, Jimmy and Buddy.
