Jerome L. Pieper
October 7, 1936 - November 27, 2024
Jerome L. Pieper, age 88, of Beaver Dam passed away at Marshfield Medical Center on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Jerome was born in Beaver Dam on October 7, 1936, the son of Leonard and Ester (Nitschke) Pieper. On February 22, 1958 he was united in marriage to his wife, Janet Ann Link. They had six children, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He and his wife loved to travel and had many adventures on their motorcycles. One of his happiest memories was when he and Janet and friends rode their motorcycles all the way to Vermont, just one of many motorcycle trips. RV traveling was an all-time favorite all over the country to include visiting oldest son, Jeff, in Alaska. He always found time to visit his only daughter, Joleen, and family wherever the Army had her stationed. His international travels included Mexico, Canada, Germany, France, Netherlands, and Ireland.
He was a hard-working man his whole life and provided a good life for his family. Working up until the day of his passing he was still strong and, on the move, doing what he loved to do, driving a tractor-trailer rig. He spent time with Jeff sifting for gold in the rivers of Alaska. Jim and Jon along with grandson Corey were his partners to fish and hunt with all over the states and Canada, along with fishing and boating trips. Jay and Joel spent a lot of time making memories with him over the years and were always close to him. They spent time going to car shows, tractor pulls, fairs and many other things together. He made memories with his family, taking them camping for years with family and friends, it was his way to relax and spend time with his wife and kids after days and weeks on the road as a long-haul truck driver. He was a studious reader and very inquisitive about so many things in life. He liked to get in the car and just ride all day to different places. Enjoyed seeing historical sites, state and national parks. In his younger days he enjoyed shooting pool on a league, clay shooting, and snowmobiling. Showing his kids how to make homemade ice cream, take kids to pick strawberries, blueberries, peaches, apples and so much more, then show us how to make something delicious to eat with our pickings.
Two weeks prior to his passing, Jerome just returned home after driving himself to Virginia and back to attend his grandson Jeremy's retirement from the Army. He was able to see his first great-granddaughter, Evelyn (Jeremy), and meet his two newest great-granddaughters, Eliana (Carrington) and Jovi'yana (JaLyssa). Gemma (Amanda) may she rest in peace was a bright light in his life, her passing was hard on him. He was able to attend grandson Carrington's Army Basic Training graduation in South Carolina and granddaughter JaLyssa's college graduation in Texas. Jerome and Janet were very active grandparents. He and Janet had five boys and only one girl. Two generations later four great-granddaughters. They all brought so much happiness to him. He was a loving, kindhearted man that would do anything to help someone in need of anything. He was a quiet gentle soul with many friends and someone that loved and cherished his wife and family and life.
