February 18, 1926 - April 11, 2025
RANDOLPH - Norma Katherine Smedema, age 99 of Randolph, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Randolph Health Services.
Norma was born in the township of Randolph on February 18, 1926, daughter of Henry and Bessie (Alsum) Redeker. She was united in marriage to George Smedema on December 9, 1949, at Randolph Christian Reformed Church. Norma was a devoted mother of five children. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to serving others, working as a custodian at Randolph Christian School and later in housekeeping at the Continental Manor. Norma was not just known for her hard work but also for her deep faith. She was a devoted member of First Reformed Church, where she participated in Bible study groups, sharing her love for scripture with others.
Norma is survived by her four children, Thomas Smedema, Douglas (Debbie) Smedema, Keith (Melinda) Smedema, Brian (Wendy) Smedema; 11 grandchildren, Lucus and Adam (Susan) Smedema, Ryan (Michele) Smedema and Miranda Smedema, Katie and Daniel (Margaret) Smedema, Weston (Monica) Patrick, Taylor (Morgan) Patrick and Mackenzie (Trevor) Waterworth, Brenna and Keyne Smedema; six great-grandsons; son-in-law, Dale Patrick; brother, Harold Redeker and brother-in-law, Curtis (Jessie) Smedema.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Smedema; daughter, Dawn Patrick; grandson, Logan Smedema; sisters, Irene (Louis) Heeringa, Leona (Harold) Cupery; Odeline (George) TerBorg; sisters-in-law, Beatrice (John) Wiersma, Annabelle (John) DeVries and Cynthia Redeker and brother-in-law, Ben (Phyllis) Smedema.
Visitation will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at First Reformed Church 406 South High Street Randolph, WI 53956.
Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at church with Pastor Luke Baehr officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery.
