Patrick J. Tobin

Patrick J. Tobin Whitesboro Patrick J. Tobin, 74, of Whitesboro, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 22, 1950, in Montpellier, VT, a son of the late Francis and Paulena (Norton) Tobin. Patrick was a graduate of West Canada Valley High School and attended MVCC for Mechanical Technology. On December 30, 1978, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Mosher in Little Falls and shared a blessed union of 45 years. Patrick was employed as a Calibrator with Collins Aerospace (formerly Bendix) in Rome, retiring in 2014 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Flub Dub Club, Bendix Active Retirees (BAR), Route 291 Bikers Group, Morning Breakfast Club at Sheri's Eastside Diner, Past Vice President and member of the Union and Pension Committee with Collins Aerospace. Patrick became an avid bike rider at the age of 59 and rode up to 30 miles a day. He enjoyed playing golf, pool with his family, snowshoeing, bird watching and working on computers. Most of all, Patrick loved spending time with his beloved family, especially out back while having a fire. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn, Whitesboro; daughters, Kadell Stewart, Oriskany and Jill (John) Srnka, Whitesboro; grandchildren, Austin Eaker, Zachary Eaker, Brooke Manolescu and Emma Stewart; sister, Joan Tobin; brothers, Tobias Tobin and Michael (Dale) Tobin; several nieces and nephews and numerous close friends. He was predeceased by a son, Ryan Patrick Tobin and brothers, Francis, Jon and Paul Tobin. Patrick's family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Atul Butala and the Oncology staff at Faxton Cancer Center for all their wonderful care and compassion. They would also like to acknowledge his faithful family and friends who called or visited him throughout his illness. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, from 4-6 pm at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11:30 am from St. Paul's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
