Janet Cosby

Janet Mae Cosby, 83 of Lafayette passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus. She was born on January 27, 1942 in Lafayette to the late Charles Isaiah and Mary Katherine (Service) Harshman. On August 17, 1960 she was married to Onnie Cosby at the Linwood Church of Christ in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2015. Janet worked as a CNA for Home Hospital for over 30 years. She is a member of the River City Church in Lafayette. In her free time Janet enjoyed tending to her garden, sewing, knitting, and reading. She never knew a stranger, Janet was known for her quirkiness, her ornery personality and her kind heart. Surviving are her children; Tilina Thomason of Florida, Sherri Ungersma, Dennis Cosby, and Dorothy Moore all of Lafayette and her sisters, Clara (Halford) Price of Kokomo and Marilyn Anthrop of Battle Ground. Also surviving are her grandchildren Sharon, Angela, Megan, Steven, Kayla, DJ, Aaron, T.J., Nick. 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandaughter. Janet is preceded in death by her brothers Ralph, Claude, and Frank. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18th from 5-7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette with a service celebrating Janet's life following at 7 p.m. with Pastor Monty Adams officiating.
