Janet Mae McCarley, 90, of Georgetown died Friday, August 7, 2015 at her residence.
She was a homemaker and worked part-time at G.E. McCarley and Associates. Mrs. McCarley was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Anthony Shaw Chapter of the Colonial Dames, the Republican Women's Association, the Georgetown Junior Women's Club, the Mary P. Shelton Library Board and served as Field Director for the American Heart Association.
She was born July 3, 1925 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Charles and Freda (Schwierking) Strong. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George Edward McCarley; one son, Michael McCarley; and a sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Ralph Mullins.
Mrs. McCarley is survived by one daughter, Jill Dotson and husband Dale; one son, Jay McCarley and wife Mary; five grandchildren, Joni Dotson, Mike Dotson, Allyson McCarley, Kevin McCarley and Gryce McCarley; and one very special great-grandchild, Mallory Dotson.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
