After a two-year battle with cancer, Patrick K. Ederer is completely healed and in the presence of his Lord and Savior. His wife, Nancy L. Hazleton Ederer, survives. They were married March 21, 1981.
He was born February 4, 1956 in Torrance, California, son of the late Robert J. and Juanita C. Bard Ederer.
Mr. Ederer was an aircraft mechanic for 11 years with ABX Air Inc. He then transitioned into maintenance control and retired after 37 years with ABX Air Inc. After retiring, he drove a school bus for Clinton-Massie Schools.
Patrick was a devoted family man who loved playing volleyball and camping with his kids and grandkids. He was extremely knowledgeable about airplanes and enjoyed anything involving aircraft. He also liked skiing and water skiing.
He was a member and past deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Wilmington. He was active with Samaritan's Purse and Operation Christmas Child.
In addition to his wife, Patrick is survived by his children, Sarah (Nate) Thirey of Wilmington, Ohio, Patrick Ryan (Bethany) Ederer of Beavercreek, Ohio, Andrew (Ashlee) Ederer of Dayton, Ohio, Luke (Hannah) Ederer of Fairborn, Ohio, Tori Ederer of Wilmington, Ohio, and Emily Ederer of Wilmington, Ohio; three brothers, James Ederer of Hilo, Hawaii, Douglas (Sylvia) Ederer of Auburn, California, and Dr. Jeffrey (Lori Barnes) Ederer of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Sophia Thirey, Mia Thirey, Eliana Thirey, Ian Thirey, John Patrick Ederer, Brian Ederer, Persayis Ederer, and Lillie Drew Ederer; aunts, Carole Ederer, Roberta (Ron) Tasker, and Connie (Skip) Evans; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1920 U.S. 22 West, Wilmington, Ohio. A funeral service with Pastor Dennis Humphreys officiating will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, January 3. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patrick's memory may be made to Operation Christmas Child, c/o Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

My thoughts and prayers are with Pat´s family. I worked with Pat at Airborne Express and ABX Air. He was kind enough to take me under his wing and train me as a maintenance controller and I´ll always be grateful to Pat for his time and patience. I´ll miss him dearly.
