Albert F. Parent

CUMBERLAND - Albert F. Parent 93, passed away Sunday March 25, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Szpak) Parent. Mr. and Mrs. Parent were married for seventy years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ida (Jacques) Parent.
A lifelong resident of Cumberland, he was employed as a Labor Foreman for J.L. Marshall of Seekonk for twenty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Pacific during WWII.
Mr. Parent was a member of the R.I. Pigeon Club, Post #14 of Cumberland, and the former Lefebvre VFW Post of Central Falls. He also was an avid bowler, a stock car racer at the Lonsdale Speedway, and owned Morgan horses and was a member of the R.I. Saddle Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Carol Bator of Pawtucket, three grandchildren, Kimberly, Joseph and Sadie, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Gail Parent.
His funeral will be held Saturday March 31, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son 1042 Newport Avenue Pawtucket with a Prayer Service in the Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling Hours will be Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center 1085 North Main Street Providence R.I. 02904 would be greatly appreciated.
