Dennis King Obituary

LINCOLN - Dennis R. King, 78, of Lincoln passed away peacefully Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Chase) King. Mr. and Mrs. King would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this coming November 30.

Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Robert R. and Anne (Pryharski) King, he had lived in Lincoln for the past 50 years.

Mr. King was a plant operator for National Grid's Gas Division for 29 years before retiring. He also a truck driver for many companies and was currently a driving instructor for New England Tractor Trailing Training School (NETTTS) in Lincoln. He was a member of Teamsters Union, Local # 251.

He was a 1965 graduate of Cumberland High School, and he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a communicant of St. Jude's Church, Lincoln.

Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving son, Robert Roy King of Lincoln; his sister, Christine Whalen of Tiverton; his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10 A.M. in St. Jude's Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. His burial, with military honors, will be in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln Tuesday 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dennis's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
