Esther Beaudreau Obituary

PASCOAG - Esther Elizabeth (Zanetti) Beaudreau passed away July 25, 2016 at Bayberry Commons Nursing Home in Pascoag, RI. Born on October 29, 1914, she was the daughter of Ernest and Theresa (Darby) Zanetti. Esther was married to Ernest J. Beaudreau who died July 27, 1962. Previously living in Burrillville, she was a resident of Slatersville in the late 1950's until 2009 when she moved to Bayberry Commons Nursing Home. She graduated from Burrillville High School in 1931 and worked in various Woonsocket textile mills until retirement.
She leaves her great niece and caretaker, Patricia (Brady) Salone of North Scituate, RI. She also leaves two nieces, Walda (Daniels) Brady of Woonsocket, RI, and Theresa (Zanetti) O'Neil of Beverly Shores, IN, a nephew, Walter Daniels of Pascoag, RI, and her great niece, Emma O'Neil from Wisconsin. She also leaves a great nephew, Scott Brady of Woonsocket, RI and two great, great nieces, Mary Salone of Richmond, RI and Ellen Salone of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary (Zanetti) Daniels and two brothers, Ernest and James Zanetti.
Esther was an incredibly kind, generous, and caring person who had many dear friends with whom she kept correspondence, never forgetting to acknowledge birthdays and special occasions in others' lives. She was independent and tenacious, proudly driving her standard shift vehicle until age 94. She was also very selfless and sweet, happy to drive anywhere, to help anyone, at any time. Esther was an avid knitter, who made countless afghans, mittens, hats and scarves for her friends and family. She was a best friend and mentor to her great niece, Patricia Salone. Her great, great nieces Mary and Ellen will remember her fondly as a guiding light whose presence in their lives will be sorely missed.
The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the entire staff of Bayberry Commons for their dedication to the care and comfort of our beloved Aunt.
At Esther's request, there will be no service or calling hours and burial will be private.

She was my favorite patient. I was her night nurse. Esther was so sweet and kind. I loved her smile and joy for life. I have missed her every single day.

Patty,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have been thinking of Esther often ever since you approached me in the market. I just loved Esther and she was so good to me when I was a kid. We had some great times with her when she lived next door to me on Greene Street. I just lost track of her as the years went by and figured she must have passed away. Too bad I never looked in to her whereabouts so much earlier. I was probably 10 years old then and I am 62 now. Love, Alison Rynn Clifford

I am so sorry to hear of Esther's passing. She was a wonderful friend to my grandmother, Catherine Haggerty, while living at Colonial Village in Slatersville. I can remember Esther stopping in to check on my grandmother and she always had a smile on her face and something funny to say. I hope happy memories of her will help you in this difficult time.

I remember Esther as such a sweet lady that always was so happy when any of us, the neighborhood kids dropped by for a visit. She use to let me and friends play (Hide and Seek) in her basement. She also always had some kind of food treat for us too and a warm smile.
