Gertrude I. Marchand

WOONSOCKET - Gertrude I. (Pierel) Marchand 94, formerly of 194 Logee St. died August 14, 2015 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Alfred J. Marchand. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Emile B. and Emma (Fafard) Pierel. Mrs. Marchand enjoyed being a homemaker and seamstress for most of her life. Gert was a member of the Royal Travelers, Precious Blood Ladies Guild and Mt. St. Charles Mother's Club .
Mrs. Marchand is survived by her children, Roger J. Marchand of Spring Hill, FL, Francoise M. Cayer and her husband Craig of Cumberland, Maurice G. Marchand and his wife Cheryl of Nokomis, FL, Alfred J. Marchand, Jr and his wife Ann of Marco Island, FL, Colette M. Cote and her husband Richard of Brooklyn, CT, and John J. Marchand and his wife Donna of Hingham, MA, seven grandchildren, and six great-grand-children. She also leaves a brother Emile Pierel of Lincoln, and two sisters Jeanne-Mance Soucy of Melbourne, FL and Ruth Phillips of Crowley, TX. Gertrude was pre-deceased by her siblings Marcel, Andre, Adrien and Bernard Pierel, and Gabrielle Blanchette.
