Ilda Afonso Obituary
Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Bento and Maria (Moura) Afonso. She resided in Cumberland for the past 44 years, previously residing in Portugal.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland, where she also was a former member of the Portuguese Choir.
Beside her husband she is survived by her two children; Irene Magalhaes and her husband Jorge of Cumberland and Tony and his wife Lori of Colchester, CT. Three grandchildren; Shanna Magalhaes, Ashley Afonso and Troy Afonso. She was the sister of the late Antonio Afonso.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Curran Road Cumberland.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904. Directions/guestbook; jjduffyfuneralhome.com
