Irene Marechal Obituary
Born on January 15, 1936, in Providence, RI; Irene was the only child of Joseph and Alice (Wright) Lussier. She was a resident of North Smithfield, RI where she attended Union Village School and graduated from St. Clair High School. She attended St. Vincent School of Nursing in Worcester, MA and graduated as a registered nurse in 1957. Irene married Russell Miller on September 6, 1958, and had two children; a son, Warren and a daughter, Susan. Irene worked as a registered nurse at Woonsocket Hospital until the birth of her son in 1960. After her divorce from Russell, Irene married Roland Marechal on June 24, 1968, in Central Falls, RI, and moved the family to Miami, FL in 1969. Irene worked as an accountant for Tower Guard Services for 18 years. Irene and her husband moved to Concord, NC in 1988 where she lived until her passing.
Irene is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roland Marechal (Concord, NC); her son, Warren Miller (Charlotte, NC); her daughter, Susan Miller (Concord, NC); her step- daughters Madeleine Cournoyer (Blackstone, MA), Muriel Harter (Winchester, TN), her step-son-in-law, Hassan Soltani (Chuluota, FL); six step- grandchildren; John Cournoyer (Woonsocket, RI); Sharyar, Parisa, and Alicia Soltani (Chuluota, FL); Bradie Daniels (Columbia, SC), Christopher Harter (Winchester, TN); three step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grand-daughter. Irene is preceded in death by her parents and step-daughters Marguerite Soltani and Marie Jeanne Britton.
Irene's final resting place after cremation will be with her parents at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham, MA. As per Irene's wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family is grateful for your condolences but declines flowers and/ or donations. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, www.hartsellfh.com, is serving the Marechal family.
