Joan Marie Wingle

BELLINGHAM - Joan Marie (Cousineau) Wingle, 78, of Bellingham, died at Whitcomb House in Milford on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 after a long illness. She was raised in Watertown, Massachusetts, the loving daughter of Alfred and Margaret Cousineau and sister of Paul Cousineau, all now deceased.
Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother and a committed citizen and servant of Bellingham, where she settled in 1962 to raise a family with her then-husband, the now-deceased Cornelious "Connie" Wingle. After moving to Bellingham, she served as secretary to the Board of Selectmen until the birth of her second child. She later provided administrative support on a voluntary basis to town committees and boards, and continued to do so after she returned to the full-time workforce as an administrative assistant in various medical offices, including the former Fogarty and Woonsocket hospitals. She was involved with the Women's Auxillary of St. Blaise Parish and the Upton Women's Club. In retirement, she maintained an avid interest in history, trivia, tag sales, and animal welfare. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and Fisher Junior College, and later in life earned an Associates degree from the Community College of Rhode Island.
She is survived by sons Paul D. Wingle of Farmington, Connecticut and John C. Wingle of Weymouth, Massachusetts, and Paul's wife Ileana and their daughter, Pilar.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00AM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown, MA. Visiting time from 9 to 10AM prior to Service at the funeral home.
