I never met John. However upon each visit to his father's office, Dr Joel and I would share stories of our children's
lives and college experiences. Dr Joel spoke of all his children with such love and pride, but he also on more than a few occasions asked if my son Andrew, would like to come fishing with John and himself. Dr Joel would speak so confidently how he knew John would make sure my son Andrew feel welcome, safe and comfortable while fishing on their boat. Sadly it never came to be,but John thru his father offered the gifts of his time, his love of the outdoors and his own compassion to my son. I will never forget this. God Bless you John.

Met John the day before as he joined up with us at the golf course for a round. Good player and nice person. He was really enjoying his week or so in Mammoth. Skiing, golfing, fishing every day. Living life to it's fullest.

Dear Dr. Picard, Janet and I just found out about your son John and sadly about your dear mother's passing. What can a person say of that which is moving in your soul at this time of sadness. We did not know your Mom or your Son but knowing you knowing of the family you raised and still raising , our hearts , our prayers, our thoughts are given up to you and your wife and family. Our connected families through Mount St. Charles hopefully will help us through this time of sorrow.

I first met John when he was hitting the tennis ball around with his friends and family at Abbott Run Valley Club in Cumberland. As a six year old he showed determination to learn the game and over the years he became a fine tennis player. John was more adept than most at whatever he chose to pursue. I will miss John, his kindness and his ever present soft grin.

Joel, Sarah, James and Emma,
Please accept my deepest condolences at the passing of your son and brother, John. A family should never have to endure the passing of 2 loved ones in such close proximity. Your family has told me about John, and I am sure that he was as wonderful as they described him. I am truly sorry I didn't have the honor of meeting him.

Dear Picard Family,
I had the priviledge of knowing John for a short time over the winter in the Boston area. I met him through mutual friends, Brandon Yee and Paul Centauro. Over just a few weekends, he became a friend and someone I enjoyed to be around. He had a big heart for everyone, exceptional knowledge and cultivated a fun energetic environment for those around him. Full of jokes and positive vibes, it was hard not to enjoy yourself around him. He will be missed very much. My deepest sympathies for you all.
Sincerely,
Shayne Youngclaus

Dear Picard Family,
I had the honor of working with John for two years at ING. He was by far one of the hardest workers in the bunch, always carried a great attitude, and had a keen attention to detail. It is clear that he was unconditionally loved by family and his close-knit group of friends. I will miss his smile, charm, wit, warrior spirit, intelligence, and professed love for county music. Please accept my sincere and warmest condolences.

To the Picards,
Ive known Sarah since I joined the pickle ball group at the beginning of the year. Seems like only a few weeks she brought John with her to join us for an afternoon of pickle ball. I had the pleasure to partner with John for a game or two. He was pleasant, engaging, funny, and picked the sport up quickly. Although he lost his life doing some thing he truly loved, losing a son/brother so young and with so much promise is truly difficult. My condolences to all of you!

Dear Picard Family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you on this incredible loss. Having worked with John during his days at ING in NY, I got to know him as a very smart coworker. Always positive and happy, diligent about his work, and always calm in stress. But even more important a great guy, fun to have a beer with after work, and a determining asset for the firm's softball team! He was so excited to go work closer to home and family, we certainly missed him here. So saddened to hear from his unexpected, way too early loss. Wishing you strength in these tough times. The great memories all stay

I know we are all in such disbelief. My deepest sympathies for your loss. John was so smart and so sweet. I have known him since kindergarten and was fortunate to have many memories with him growing up. For some reason, I have this vivid memory of Sarah pulling me aside in first grade and thanking me for giving John a slinky. I may have been young but I remember how genuine and kind that was and it was that memory that always reminded me of where John's kindness came from. As a friend and classmate, my memories with John will be cherished and I will always remember the way he lived.

I went to High School with John and remember him well. I am now a cloistered Carmelite nun. The order is small but praise God we will endure. To that end, the community will be praying for John and the entire Picard family. Heaven is our home, may John now enjoy the gift of his eternal reward. He is not lost but only a prayer away. May the ineffable mercy and love of God bring you comfort and solace at this time. Blessings and prayers, Sister Jacinta Anne OCD PH.D

Im glad I can call John a friend. He was an unbelievably genuine and outgoing guy. I was a year ahead of him at the hilltop. Our classes at Mount clicked well, thats how I got to know John. We've all had some great memories with him. Please accept my sincere condolences for I will not be able to attend his services, I am currently deployed and out of the country. I cannot express enough how much he was loved amongst his friends and how he was a charismatic individual. The Picard family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

This photo taken while fishing on Lake Arrowhead in Maine. I told John at the time that in all my years fishing I never achieved the skill to catch a clam, and a freshwater clam at that.
