Joseph B. Doris

CUMBERLAND - Joseph B. Doris, 85, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Margaret H. (Burke) Doris.

Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John J. and Flore M. (Faubert) Doris. He was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Mr. Doris served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Joe was employed for over 40 years for the Corning Glassworks - GTE in Central Falls. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Valley Falls Fire Department for over 40 years, later becoming the tax collector for the district.

Besided his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Nancy (Tony) Antosh, Debra (David) Fernandes, Steven Doris, Karen (David) Carpenter, Joseph (Sue) Doris, John Doris and Tracey (Kris) Silva; his 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; his siblings, James R. Doris, Maureen Letourneau and Patricia Dery; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Theresa Leckie and John J. Doris Jr.

A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 10 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will be private.
Visiting Hours will be held Monday, July 17, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
