Joseph Makar Obituary
He was born in Woonsocket, son of Josef Makar and his stepmother Susan (Derosiers) Makar of Blackstone and his mother the late Patricia Carolo.
Joey was self-employed working in architectural antiques. He was a graduate of Blackstone Millville Regional High School. He was an avid outdoor's men and loved camping and fishing.
He was a 20 year member of the Woonsocket Elks Lodge BPOE #850.
He loved his family and cherished his friends. He always had a smile and was there to help everyone.
Besides his father and stepmother he is survived by his girlfriend Keri Kinniburgh, aunts and a nephew.
A special thank you to The Kinniburgh Family for his care.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stephen and Brian Makar.
A tribute service will be held Friday from 10:00 until 11:30 in the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield, RI.

It's been quite a few years since I'd seen Joe--especially since moving to Florida in 2003. But I know that if I were to see him tomorrow (wouldn't that be nice), the gap of years wouldn't matter a bit--we would be able to laugh and joke as though we'd been together last weekend! THAT'S just how Joe was!
We played on volleyball teams together, fished, camped in Maine, spent days skiing here and there, and drinkin an occasional beer--ok maybe more. These are the things that I will remember--and although we're not smiling today, we will smile and even laugh when we recall our too brief time together. No doubt you'll be sorely missed, my friend. We are deeply saddened to see you go, but we're grateful to have known you; we are better for it. So long, Joe
